As much as I love Christmas, it is definitely best left till December.
But this week saw my house (well OK fireplace) being decorated for a magazine interview and photo shoot for the winter edition of Taste the Seasons magazine, Derbyshire's most excellent food and drink publication.
The fabulously talented Claire, owner of Bijoux Floristry in Wirksworth, arrived armed with ivy, candles, bows and hearts to turn my stone fireplace into a festive delight.
And what an excellent job she did. The trouble is now, it looks so good, I don't want to take it down! Claire specialises in floristry workshops and at this time of year, Christmas wreath making is very popular.
Not being a person particularly good at photography, it was interesting to see the level of detail involved in taking the photographs. Jen from Gravity Rides Photography, artistically arranged various spices, glasses and decorations to create that Christmas feel.
Look out for the feature article in Taste the Seasons magazine due out on 19th November.
Here are a few photos in the meantime.
