So there I was, packing up my house getting ready to move and I happened to check my emails...
"Results and feedback Great Taste Awards".
I can't believe I had forgotten today was the day the results were out.
The format had slightly changed from last year and to be honest it didn't click at first that I had won anything. It was only when I walked away, thought about it, then tried the external list of award winners that I nearly fell over!!
My Rhubarb & Rosemary Sour has won 2 Gold Stars at this years Great Taste Awards.
2 years in business, 2 entries and 2 awards.
I was dumbstruck!!
"The description appealed to us all. The colour was reminiscent of homemade cordials enjoyed in childhood. But this drink was 'grown up' and very cleverly made. Beautifully balanced flavours, with subtle rosemary and citrus notes, and levels of rhubarb; everything was evident and enjoyed by us all. We felt it was very well executed."
I am not going to lie, behind the scenes of this amazing drink, that Rhubarb nearly killed me!
The idea was in my head but it took lots of effort and time to make the drink work. I have chopped, boiled, mashed and strained Rhubarb till I was dreaming about it.
The proof is in the fabulous feedback that my customers give, the judges comments and to top it off another Great Taste Award.
