As you may (or may not know!) I am a stewardess with what some may describe as the worlds favourite airline (PLEASE don't contact me to complain that you didn't get your special meal on a flight in 2005....)
I joined BA on a bit of a whim, straight out of university in 1998. My intention was to spend a couple of years flying here and there, see the world a bit, go back into what I had studied to do and then settle down.
As with all laid out plans, that never happened. I loved the job so much I stayed for 16 years, albeit the last few years part time.
I am honoured to have flown with an airline with a fabulous reputation. I have met and served many a famous face, be it actor, singer, politician or royalty and have had the opportunity to sit on the flight deck for many take offs and landings and I even married a pilot (commonly known amongst crew as being a flight deck floozy!).
I have come to realise that some decisions in life are hard. Scary almost, giving up a job with a regular income for an uncertain future seems daunting. But being the type of person I am, I have to admit I was afraid. So the only thing left to do was face it straight on and then resign anyway!
Some particular trips stand out more than others, notably, white water rafting down the Blue Nile, walking in the mountains in Kazakhstan on the border of China and swimming with pink Dolphins in the Far East.
I will miss the crew the most. What naughty, mischievous, sometimes riotous bunch of people they are. Definitely my type of people!
